I have been in general dental practice for over 20 years working as an associate, sole-principal and partner. In the past four of years, I have worked as an independent dental expert witness and hold a dental practice inspector role for the NHS.

I am on the list of advisors and experts for the GDC Fitness to Practice panel and on the list of approved experts for Dental Protection and the Dental Defence Union.

A great deal of experience has been gained in most situations that will face a dentist working in general practice. My recent postgraduate activity and the development of myself as an independent dental expert witness has, I believe, resulted in me being in a good position to guide colleagues in the practicalities of attaining and maintaining good clinical and ethical practice throughout their careers.

Further, I work in a busy general dental practice and can acutely understand the issues and pressures that professional colleagues face on a daily basis. Therefore, I can impart a level of empathy and understanding to the majority of situations that face dentists and patients thus allowing a practical, fair and reasonable approach when helping the range of issues.

I have cultured a passion to help professional colleagues do the best they can in what is an ever increasingly demanding and difficult profession. I would very much to be able to help others maximize their potential to provide a high quality service whilst still protecting both patients and the reputation of the profession.

Having seen the effects of colleagues experiencing difficulties, I am very keen to help anyone avoid the pitfalls that can lead to these very stressful and worrying situations.
